Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyse and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 14. Use Italian and English in oral and written form, in different genre-stylistic varieties and registers of communication (official, unofficial, neutral), to solve communicative tasks in everyday, social, educational, professional, scientific spheres of life. PLO 21. Interpret, abstract, annotate and adequately translate (from Italian, English and Ukrainian) oral and written texts of various styles and genres, except highly specialized ones. PLO 23. Identify and analyse the specific features of a communicative situation in translation and impact on translation decisions. PLO 26. Carry out stylistic editing of texts in Ukrainian.

Mastered the basic course of the Italian language, the ability to demonstrate the main types of speech activity; knowledge of the theoretical foundations of translation; basic skills of written translation
Course content
The course aims to provide students with basic knowledge of business communication mediated by translation, to teach them how to translate business texts and, if necessary, to compile them, as well as to provide bilateral interpretation of oral communication between bilingual communicators. The course is part of the free choice block of disciplines "Translation in Intercultural Communication" and consists of two modules. The first module is lecture-based, covering situations of written and oral business communication and the main difficulties of written and oral bilateral translation, the language of instruction is Italian. The second, practical, module focuses on translating written business texts and providing two-way interpreting in typical situations of oral business communication; the languages of instruction, control and assessment are Italian and Ukrainian.

Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, the assessment is carried out in accordance with the types of work and the form of control described in clause 7.1 of the Program of the discipline. The grade is based on the results of the student's work throughout the semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who have scored a positive number of points from 60 to 100 receive "passed". Grades: thematic reports - min. 6 / max. 10 (2×5), exercises - min. 9 / max. 15, translation of texts in the field of business communication min. 9 / max. 15, compiling a glossary - min. 12 / max. 20; control written tasks - min. 12 / max. 20, control translation - min. 12 / max. 20. Students who score less than 60 points per semester (0-59) must prepare a glossary, make a written test translation and/or complete test written assignments.
