Learning outcomes
PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 6. Use information and communication technologies to solve complex specialized tasks and issues of professional activity. PLO 7. To analyse compare and classify various directions and schools in linguistics. PLO 12. Analyze language units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and the underlying processes. PLO 17. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems and problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or learning. PLO 19. Have the skills to participate in scientific and/or applied research in the field of philology.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Students should know: - basics of French and Ukrainian morphology and syntax, - the basic linguistic terminology for the analysis of grammatical phenomena, the principles of conducting such an analysis, - basic grammatical theories, - periods and processes of formation of the grammatical system of the French language. Students should be able to: - communicate correctly in a foreign language, observing phonetic, lexical-syntactic, grammatical norms, - make a grammatical analysis of texts taking into account the information obtained in practical and theoretical courses, - apply linguistic tools in practice, to possess: elementary skills of critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena, use of foreign language specialized informative sources, skills of their abstracting.
Course content
The purpose of discipline. The discipline is one of the mandatory components of the complex multi-semester discipline "Comparative Studies" and aims to study the grammatical system of the French language in comparison with the native language in order to identify similar and distinctive features; the student must master the main categories and methods of comparative grammar and be able to apply them in the practice of translation.

Assessment methods and criteria
The maximum number of points during the semester is 100 points. In particular, semester evaluation by forms of control: - oral answers, blitz survey - max. 5 points; - participation in the discussion, supplement - 3 p.; - preparation and defense of a presentation, abstract - 3-5 p.; - performing exercises - max. 3 b.; - tests, intermediate control - 10-15 points; - modular control work - 15-20 points.
