Learning outcomes
PLO 8. Evaluate the historical achievements and latest achievements of literary studies (including Vietnamese). PLO 10. Collect and systematize linguistic, literary, and folklore facts; interpret and translate texts of different styles and genres. PLO 11. Carry out scientific analysis of linguistic, speech, and literary material, interpret and structure it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, and formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. PLO 16. To use specialized conceptual knowledge in the field of Vietnamese philology to solve complex problems and problems that require updating and integrating knowledge, often in conditions of incomplete or insufficient information and conflicting requirements. PLO 21. To conduct scientific analysis of Vietnamese language units and literary works at the professional level and to apply knowledge of the hieroglyphic writing of the Vietnamese language.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful completion of courses: "Vietnamese Language," "History of Vietnamese Literature," "Foreign Literature," etc. from the educational program for bachelors, and the course "Contemporary Literature of Vietnam" for masters. 2) knowledge of the theoretical foundations of modern literary criticism and the traditional and modern paradigms of contemporary world literary criticism; 3) mastery of techniques and methods of traditional literary analysis of literary texts; 4) ability to conduct textual analysis of original works of Vietnamese literature.
Course content
The discipline "Literature of Vietnamese Abroad" is the second part of the complex discipline "Modern Vietnamese Literature." The second part provides theoretical material on the peculiarities of the development of Vietnamese literature abroad in the second half of the twentieth and early twenty-first centuries and analyzes specific samples of works of art in the original. The following main issues are considered: 1. adequate understanding of specific literary works and genres and stylistic analysis; 2. peculiarities of the development of literary movements and trends in Vietnamese diaspora literature of the period; 3. political and historical preconditions for the emergence of Vietnamese diaspora literature; 4. The main differences between Vietnamese literature abroad and in Vietnam itself

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester final grade is formed by the points obtained by the student in the process of completing the declared types and forms of study and the points obtained at the exam. The maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) for semester control and 40 points (40%) for exam.
