Learning outcomes
PLO 4. To assess and analyze critically vital social, individual and professional
issues and offer tactics for their resolution, in difficult and unpredictable
conditions, which require the application of new approaches and forecasting.
PLO 16. To use specialized conceptual knowledge in a chosen linguistic field to
solve complex tasks and issues, which require updates and integration of
knowledge, often under conditions of incomplete or lacking information and
contradictory requirements.
PLO 19. To detect systemic interlingual differences and take them into account in
translation practice.

Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the basic provisions
speech culture and general culture as the most important
components of adequate translation and its formation for
maximally complete perception; to develop in students
skills and abilities of adequate professional interpretation
texts of various genres. The course involves mastering basic concepts
translation studies, which will become the basis for the development of professional speaking
translator

Assessment methods and criteria
General criteria: Students must correctly apply lexical-grammatical transformations in the process of oral translation. Apply knowledge about expressive, emotional, logical means of language and speech technique to achieve the planned pragmatic result and organize successful communication
Oral answer: from 1 (insufficient knowledge of translation techniques) to 5 points (complete knowledge of educational material).
Supplement: from 0.5 (does not significantly expand the discussion) to 2 points (thoroughly supplements the discussion of the topic).
