To analyze, design, and give reasons for translation decisions, decisions on the choice of translation tools and methods of quality assurance in specialized translation.

Course content
The aim of the discipline is to acquaint masters students with important problems of editing skills, in particular with the methodology of editing texts of various styles and genres, translated from Spanish into Ukrainian and vice versa. The course includes providing the fundamentals of editorial editing, which arises from the need to work on improving the translated text; familiarization with methods of such linguistic and stylistic improvement, motivated intervention of the editor in the translation text; outlining the scope of the editor work from the point of view of literary technique: mastery of typification and composition, general language skill, assessment of errors in spelling, word choice, ability to maintain measure in presentation, etc. Along with this, the concept of the editors professional culture includes, together with other components, logical knowledge and related skills of logical text analysis.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
• lectures, practical classes, independent work; • tasks assigned to independent work - preparation for lectures, practical classes; • answers to the blitz survey before the start of the lecture; • oral answers in practical classes (main answers and additions); • exercises for editing the translated text
Assessment methods and criteria
Methods: Semester assessment: credit. The distribution of points is carried out as follows: max. are 100 points during the semester and min. are 60 points. Evaluation criteria: • oral answers, additions, exercises for editing of the translated text, blitz-survey: LO 1.1 – 1.3, 2.1-2.3, 3.1, 4.1 – max. 80 points; • mastery of theoretical topics, argumentation of a point of view (choice of form when editing the translated text) during discussion (practical classes): LO 1.1-1.3, 2.1-2.3, 3.1, 4.1 - max. 20 points; . • the credit consists of the sum of all types of work per semester; • evaluation of all types of work is carried out in points, in accordance with  the clause 7.1 of the Work plan of the scientific discipline.
