Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of courses of the complex discipline "Modern Ukrainian language" of pre-syntactic level: Lexicology. Phraseology "," Phonetics "," Morphemology. Word formation "," Paradigmology ";
Knowledge of the terminological, conceptual, and methodological apparatus of the courses; traditional and modern views on the units of the lexical and grammatical system of the Ukrainian language;
Possession of basic skills of grammatical analysis of language units at the appropriate level;
Ability to apply the gained knowledge and skills in solving problems of syntax and in the analysis of syntactic structures.
Course content
The discipline "Simple sentence syntax" is part of the complex discipline "Modern Ukrainian language" for preparing bachelors in the educational program "Theory and methods of teaching Ukrainian language and literature, foreign language in primary school."
The discipline involves the study of basic concepts of syntactic science (syntactic unit, semantic-syntactic relations, formal-grammatical relations, models of phrases, sentence members, elementary / non-elementary structures) and grammatical features of simple sentences (structural-semantic organization of sentences and typological classifications), its schemes; mastering the skills of syntactic analysis of phrases and sentences, semantic-structural modeling of syntactic structures.

Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, students' knowledge is tested with the help of oral answers, additions, tests, tests with practical tasks. The final assessment is conducted as a written exam. The maximum number of points on the exam - 40 points, the minimum number of points (positive grade), added to the semester - 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points allocated for the exam). The exam ticket comprises two tasks: theoretical question (complex sentence syntax (50%); practical question (simple sentence parsing) (50%); each question is evaluated with a maximum of 20 points).
Examination criteria: theoretical question (1-20 points); practical task (1-20 points).
