PRN 7. Understand the main problems of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches.
PRN 8. Know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of words, the history of the Polish language and literature, and be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PRN 11. Know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in national and foreign (foreign) languages.
PRN 16. Know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of the chosen philological specialization, be able to apply them in professional activity

Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student must have basic knowledge of the theory of literature according to school programs on Ukrainian and foreign literature.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to repeat, update and deepen the knowledge of literary theory acquired in secondary school during lessons on Ukrainian and foreign literature. The educational discipline is a mandatory course for students of the "Applied (Computer) Linguistics and English" educational program, which involves the study of three interrelated thematic blocks: literature as an art form, a work of art and the principles of its analysis, the literary process in its theoretical understanding, taking into account the latest achievements of scientific thought. Thus, the student will receive systematic knowledge about the unique nature of verbal art, its functions, poetics, types and genres, directions and currents.

Assessment methods and criteria
During the semester, evaluation is carried out according to the types of works: Answers in the seminar session - 48/30, control work - 52/30. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures
