PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyse and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students should know the main stages and
characteristics of the socio-political process; be able to collect and interpret information about political phenomena and socio-political processes and events; have elementary skills of scientific research and management information; critical thinking and ability to forecast political, economic, cultural events and phenomena.
Course content
The subject of the academic discipline is the functioning and development of modern society, politics and power, human interaction with social and political institutions, special characteristics of modern Ukrainian society in a comparative context. The task is to form students' skills of critical analysis and explain socio-political phenomena and processes, their presentation in mass media, everyday consciousness and in theoretical generalizations based on modern sociological and political knowledge. To develop knowledge about the peculiarities of functioning and development of modern social and political systems, their structural elements and social consequences, social and political problems of modern society. To form knowledge and ideas about the main socio-cultural and political characteristics modern Ukrainian society in regional and national dimensions, about social and political problems and ways of their regulation, in particular in the conditions of European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Group discussions on seminars, test, oral report (group presentation of project results, individual research work (referential and analytical review of the source, analytical discussion)
Assessment methods and criteria
Assessment is carried out according to a system that provides a two-level evaluation of the learned material, in particular, evaluation of theoretical training making up 40% of the total grade, and evaluation of practical training, which makes up 60% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work:
- semester evaluation (1st part):
1. Work in seminars during the semester - 4 points/3 points for one answer.
2. Test (20 questions for 0.5 points each): in the form of a test with closed alternatives - 6-10 points
- semester assessment (2nd part):
1. Oral report (group presentation of project results): 9-15 points for one project;
2. Individual research work (referential and analytical review of the source, analytical discussion): 6-10 points for one work:
3. Test (20 test questions for 0.5 points each): 6-10 points.
