Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the discipline "Basics of Linguistics"; knowledge of the grammatical terminology of the Ukrainian language, the basics of the Western European language.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to provide students with basic knowledge of the Persian language, namely: to teach Persian phonetics, to develop reading and writing skills in Persian, to introduce the basics of the normative grammar of the Persian language, to provide a basic lexical reserve, thereby creating a foundation sufficient for a) understanding simple Persian texts; b) development of speaking skills; c) application of acquired knowledge of the Persian language in professional activities.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The discipline provides only practical classes aimed at the acquisition of phonetic, lexical and grammatical skills of the Persian language by Arabic students in the process of active work in the classroom. The teacher's explanation of the language material is accompanied by constant monitoring of the students' acquisition of lexical and grammatical minimums by means of their oral questioning and the organization of written tasks, tests, lexical dictations, independent and modular control works. Completion of homework, translation exercises, and prescription according to the sample is mandatory.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester evaluation is based on: oral answers, written assignments, lexical dictations, translation exercises - 24/40 points, modular test papers - 12/20 points. Final evaluation in the form of an exam: max. 40 / min. 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam); the exam takes place in written and oral form and involves: 1) a written translation of an unfamiliar text from Persian into Ukrainian; 2) grammar questions; 2) conversation topic. Rating scale: 90-100 points - excellent, 75-89 - good, 60-75 - satisfactory, 1-59 - unsatisfactory. Students who scored less than 36 points in total during the semester are not allowed to take the exam.
