Learning outcomes
PLO 11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the national and foreign (Arabic and French) languages.
PLO 12. To analyze Arabic linguistic units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that cause them.
PLO 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of Arabic texts of various styles and genres.
PLO 17. To collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them for solving complex problems in specialized fields of professional activity and/or education.
PLO 20. To demonstrate basic knowledge of translation theory, basic theoretical and practical problems of translation studies in the aspect of a specific pair of languages (Arabic and Ukrainian).

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastering of the disciplines: “Oriental language: advanced level”, “Introduction to Oriental Philology”, “Lingual Country Studies of the Oriental Languages”.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the types of audiovisual translation, the specifics of the translation of multimedia products; to develop students’ skills to select the correct contextual counterparts in the translation language and the original language, to apply appropriate translation techniques in order to create a high-quality translation product in the field of audiovisual translation. The discipline belongs to the block of disciplines of the student's free choice and has a practical direction.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The discipline involves only practical classes aimed at students' work on audiovisual translation in the classroom, and their self-study. Completion of homework and translation exercises is mandatory. Control from the teacher's side is carried out by means of oral questioning and the organization of listening tasks, tests, translation exercises, modular control works.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on the oral responses, written assignments, presentations – 36/60 points, modular test papers – 12/20 points, final control paper – 12/20 points. The credit is given based on the results of the student’s work throughout the entire semester and does not require additional assessment measures. Students who scored 60 points, the required minimum, receive “passed”. Students who failed to score 60 points, the required minimum, receive “failed”. Those students who scored totally less than 60 points during the semester period should complete a test paper in the items which he/she failed to pass. Final score 60-100 – passed; 0-59 – failed.
