Learning outcomes
PLO 13. Analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and foreign fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process. PLO 21. Collect, document, systematize folklore material. PLO 25.2 Apply in practice the knowledge of the prototypes, motifs, formulas, architecture of texts of various genres and subgenres typical of the world epic; to reveal in the textual space of the Ukrainian folk epic allusions to world cultural heritage (according to the selective block "Mythology and folklore of the peoples of the world")

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting this course, students must master the following academic disciplines: NDD.09. Ukrainian folklore, NDD.13. Poetics of folklore, NDD.14. Theory of folklore; - To be able to collect and interpret information about the phenomena of oral folk creativity; distinguish autochthonous and universal folklore phenomena, apply basic terms and concepts in the analysis of folklore phenomena and processes; plan and evaluate own work; use interactive and multimedia tools. - Possess elementary skills of folkloristic analysis; critical attitude to the analyzed phenomena; searching and organizing information, using foreign language sources.
Course content
Purpose of discipline - to form a system of knowledge about the cultural heritage of the Slavic peoples; about the common and distinctive phenomena in the folklore of the Slavs, about the connections between the oral traditions of the Ukrainian people and the Eastern, Western and Southern Slavs. Annotation. The course contributes to the professional training of students and introduces the specifics of folklore of various Slavic ethnic groups, its genre system, history and poetics of individual genres; aimed at forming students' knowledge about the regional specificity of the folklore of the Slavic peoples, its themes, imagery, peculiarities of ritual practices. The course highlights the processes of evolution of oral folk poetry of Eastern, Western and Southern Slavs, pages of the history of Slavic folkloristics, reveals the role and significance of folk creativity for the formation and development of national literatures.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The discipline ends with an exam. Forms of education: lecture, seminar, independent work. During the semester, after lectures on relevant topics, seminar classes are held, at which evaluation is carried out according to the types of work (oral response, report/presentation, control work).
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for the evaluation of theoretical training (50%); assessment of practical training (40%); assessment of communication (10%). The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of learning the material from all topics of the two content parts (oral answers), performing individual works (presentation, essay) and writing control papers: 36/60. For students who during the semester did not reach the minimum cut-off grade level (36 points) at the end of the semester, a final semester test is conducted or individual papers are evaluated on course topics. The maximum grade for additional assessment forms cannot exceed 40% of the maximum total points for the semester (24 points). Final evaluation in the form of an exam: the maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points that are added to the semester ones is 24 points.
