Learning outcomes
PLO 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres. PLO 16. To know and understand the basic concepts, theories and concepts of folkloristics, linguistics and literary studies, to be able to apply them in professional activities. PLO 24. Identify the main world mythologemes in author's and folklore works and carry out their analysis.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Know: the main characteristics of mythology as a science of myths and mythological consciousness; the connection of mythology with other humanities, primarily folkloristics; to have basic factual knowledge of a humanitarian nature. Be able to work with various sources of educational and scientific information, process it, make generalizations and conclusions; collect and interpret information about the features of mythology; apply basic concepts in the analysis of mythological phenomena; plan and evaluate own work; use interactive and multimedia tools. Possess elementary skills of scientific research, search and processing of educational and scientific information.
Course content
The course consists of three content modules. The first is devoted to the study of the history of the formation of mythological ideas and beliefs, the historiography of the study of myth and theoretical aspects of mythology, the methodological foundations of the understanding of myth as a cultural phenomenon, the categories of myths and mythological heroes, their essence; basic concepts in the world and domestic scientific discourse. The second module highlights the aspects of syncretism of primitive consciousness, features of mythological thinking and the genesis of the mythological worldview, the formation of mythological beliefs and ideas, the main archetypes of the mythological picture of the world. The third covers the paradigm of the mythological beliefs of the Proto-Slavs and Ukrainians in particular, the problems of studying Ukrainian mythology, the pantheon of pre-Christian gods, demonology and the personification of abstract concepts in the mythology of Ukrainians, the influence of Christianity and the system of dualism.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Classes are held in the form of lectures and seminars. The discipline ends with a test. Forms of education: lecture, seminar, independent work. During the semester, after lectures on relevant topics, seminar classes are held, at which evaluation is carried out according to the types of work (oral response, preparation of problematic questions for discussion, participation in discussion, preparation of tests, presentation, control work).
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester number of points is formed by the points received by the student in the process of learning the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for the semester consists of points received for classroom work (oral answers, participation in discussions), independent creative works (presentation, preparation of tests, creation of problematic questions for discussion) and two control works in the form of tests. All types of work for the semester have as a result: ● in the maximum dimension of 100 points, ● a minimum of 60 points. In case of absence from the seminar, the student must complete the assignment for the practical session in written form. The discipline ends with a test. The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account two test papers.
