Learning outcomes
PLO 1. Communicate freely on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists in national and foreign languages orally and in writing, use them to organize effective intercultural communication. PLO 9. Characterize the dialectal and social varieties of the Ukrainian language, describe the sociolinguistic situation. PLO 10. Know the norms of the literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in national and foreign (foreign) languages. PLO 12. Analyze linguistic units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that cause them. PLO 17. Collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them to solve complex problems and problems in specialized areas of professional activity and/or learning.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastering of the academic disciplines "Lexicology and phonetics of the modern Ukrainian language", "Modern Ukrainian language: paradigmology, syntax", "Dialectology", "Old Slavic language". 2. To know basic linguistic concepts regarding language as a system. 3. Be able to analytically work with scientific literature, analyze texts. 4. To have elementary skills of modeling texts in oral and written form.
Course content
Content-thematic component: Stylistic system of the modern Ukrainian literary language: basic concepts, categories. The system of functional styles of the modern Ukrainian literary language. Scientific style: systematicity, genre differentiation, stylistic functions of linguistic means, development trends. Media style: systematicity, genre differentiation, stylistic functions of linguistic means, development trends. Official and business style: systematicity, genre differentiation, stylistic functions of linguistic means, development prospects. Conversational style: systematicity, characteristics, development trends. Artistic style: systematicity, genre differentiation, stylistic potential of linguistic means, development trends.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Methods: lecture, practical session, independent work Activities: scientific report, analysis of texts, independent preparation of tests, control work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Scientific message - minimum 10 / maximum 15; analysis of texts - minimum 15 / maximum 20; independent composition of texts - minimum 15 / maximum 30; control work - minimum 6 / maximum 10; final test - minimum 14 / maximum 25. The form of the final evaluation is the credit. During the semester, evaluation is carried out according to the types of works and the form of the counter. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who scored the minimum positive number of points - 60 - receive - "enrolled". Correspondence scale of final scores: "Enrolled" - 60-100 "Not counted" - 0-59
