PLO 2. Process information effectively: collect relevant information from a variety of sources, including professional literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, organize, classify and systematize it. PLO 5. Collaborate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, supporters of different political views, etc. PLO 14. Use German and English in oral and written form, in different genre and style varieties and registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), for solving communicative tasks in everyday, public, educational, professional and academic spheres of life. Prerequisites and co-requisites
Proficiency in Ukrainian at the C2 level (native language) and German at the B2-C1 level; knowledge of the basics of translation studies and practical translation.
Course content
The goal of the course is the active and purposeful development of language knowledge and speech skills by students in the field of sector (special) translation from a second foreign language (German) and into a second foreign language (German); improvement of skills in translation and interpreting of texts in today's most relevant fields – political texts and speeches, jurisprudence, ecology, medicine, etc.; development of technical competencies of a written translator.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Practical classes (elaboration of individual topics according to the program, analysis of written translations, search for the best translation solutions, project work, work in mini-groups, individual tasks, simulation of a real interpretation situation), discussion, interpretation in real time, analysis, feedback.
Assessment methods and criteria
The course ends with a test. During the semester, evaluation is carried out in accordance with the work program of the discipline. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. Students who scored the minimum positive number of points – 60, receive - "passed". Students who did not score the minimum positive number of points – less than 60, receive the mark "failed". Students who scored less than 60 points in total for the semester must prepare material on the topics they missed, as an essay and/or make test translations, or, if necessary, write a test paper.
