Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful completion of the course "Practical German Language" (in the 1st-4th semesters), completion of the courses "Theoretical Phonetics" (in the 4th semester), the comprehensive discipline "Classical and Modern Linguistics: Part 1 "Latin Language" (1st semester), Part 2 "Introduction to Linguistics" (2nd semester), and "German-Speaking Countries Linguistic and Cultural Studies" (3rd semester).
Course content
The discipline familiarizes students with the methodological foundations of developing students' skills and abilities in practical German language proficiency; the peculiarities of organizing and planning the educational process for German language teaching; it forms conceptual and terminological knowledge; and develops practical skills in using the German language in professional communication. The discipline is elective and is taught in the 5th semester for a total of 90 hours (3 credits), including 14 hours of lectures, 28 hours of practical classes, and 48 hours of independent student work. The instruction and assessment are conducted in German and Ukrainian. The discipline includes 1 thematic module, 1 module-based assessment, and concludes with an exam.

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment:
1) Oral response (speaking on a topic), contributions during questioning/discussion
2) Completion of practical tasks
3) Presentation
4) Preparation and defense of a project
5) Module-based assessment (testing)
Final assessment
The final assessment is conducted in the form of a comprehensive exam.
The maximum score on the exam is 40 points, and the minimum score (passing grade) that is added to the semester grades is 24 points (60% of the maximum score allocated for the exam).
The final assessment includes:
- a written multiple-choice test consisting of 20 questions, each question worth 1 point - minimum 12 points (passing grade), maximum 20 points.
- an oral examination (response to 1 question from the exam) - minimum 12 points (passing grade), maximum 20 points.
