Prerequisites and co-requisites
The student should successfully master such educational disciplines as "Practical course of English language" and possess skills such as:
● selection, analysis, and interpretation of regional studies facts;
● communication on regional studies topics.
Course content
The educational discipline consists of two parts: the first part introduces students to the regional realities, history, culture, political system, geographical features, and prominent figures of Great Britain, while the second part covers the corresponding realities of the United States of America, as well as the peculiarities of the English language functioning in its American variant. Studying this discipline, firstly, allows to deepen, generalize, and systematize knowledge about the role and importance of the English language in the world and in the countries where it has the status of state language, secondly, it prepares students to carry out pedagogical activities as an English language teacher. Classes are held in the form of lectures, practical exercises, and independent work. The discipline concludes with a credit test.
