Learning outcomes
2. Apply specialized conceptual knowledge in political science, which includes modern scientific achievements in the field of professional activity or field of knowledge and is the basis for original thinking and conducting research, critical understanding of problems in the field and on the border of fields of knowledge. 3. Communicate freely orally and in writing in Ukrainian and English when discussing professional issues, research and innovations in the field of political science. 4. Make effective decisions on issues of politics, political science and related problems, including in difficult and unpredictable conditions; predict the development of political processes; determine the factors affecting them and the achievement of the set goals; analyze and compare alternatives; assess the risks and likely consequences of political decisions.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Before starting the course, students should know the basic concepts of political science and the main events of political life in Ukraine and in the world. To be able to collect and process information on theoretical and practical issues, to work with scientific and journalistic material, namely to compare and analyze it. Possess elementary skills of scientific research, information gathering, use of scientific sources.
Course content
The discipline "Political extremism" belongs to the list of mandatory subjects of higher education and is taught in the 2nd semester of the master's degree. The educational discipline introduces students to the genesis of dominant types of political extremism, theoretical approaches to the study of political extremism, key categories of the conceptual apparatus of analysis of the main factors of the emergence of political violence, methods of countering extremism and terrorism.
