The aim of this academic discipline is to develop students' communicative competencies at various levels and provide them with basic knowledge of vocabulary and grammar, enabling them to be equal participants in intercultural communication. This discipline allows for the formation of skills and competencies necessary for further development of translation skills. The following are developed: fundamental skills in grammar usage, which serve as the basis for expressing thoughts in a foreign language in both written and oral form; practical skills in applying lexical and grammatical resources for communication in the German language. The instruction is conducted through practical sessions and independent student work. The discipline concludes with an exam at the end of the semester.
