Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. To know the peculiarities of the presentation of probable forms of the phenomenology of religion, the content of the sacred and its characteristics, the semantics of sacred manifestations. 2. To be able to explain possible options for solving the phenomenology of religion and navigate in primary sources. 3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and critical analysis of sources; the use of foreign language specialized informative sources on the subject of phenomenology of religion.
Course content
The discipline "Phenomenology of Religion" is a mandatory discipline for the specialty "Religious Studies", which is taught in the second semester of the first year of the master's degree. The phenomenology of religion is defined as the identification and explanation of the content and meanings of manifestations of the sacred in the context of their comparative studies. Accordingly, familiarization with the ideas of this course will contribute to a more in-depth, better understanding by students of the problems associated with the functioning of those religious phenomena that claim sacred status.
