Learning outcomes
PLO 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of speech, the history of the Hindi language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 12. To analyze Hindi linguistic units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that cause them. PLO 18. To have skills in managing complex actions or projects when solving complex problems in the professional field activities in the field of Iranian studies, as well as translation activities, and to be responsible for making decisions in the unpredictable conditions. PLO 19. To have the skills to participate in scientific and applied research in the field of philology. PLO 20. To demonstrate basic knowledge of translation theory, basic theoretical and practical problems of translation studies in the aspect of a specific pair of languages (Hindi and Ukrainian).

Course content
The goal of the discipline is to improve and develop students' skills in performing oral and written Ukrainian-Hindi translation based on knowledge of the basic principles of the general and partial theory of translation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The discipline provides only practical classes, aimed at further development of students’ skills in oral and written two-way Ukrainian-Hindi translation. Completion of homework and translation exercises is mandatory. Control from the teacher's side is carried out by means of an oral questioning and organizing written tasks, tests, lexical dictations, modular control works.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on: oral responses, written works, lexical dictations, and translation exercises – 24/40 points, modular control works – 12/20 points. Summarizing evaluation in the form of exam is max. 40 / min. 24 points (60% of minimum required quantity); the exam is conducted in a written form and includes translating two unfamiliar texts of various topics from Ukrainian to Hindi. Students who scored less than 36 points in total during the semester are not allowed to take the exam.
