Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To work effectively with information: select the necessary information from various sources, in particular from specialized literature and electronic databases, critically analyze and interpret it, arrange, classify and systematize it. PLO 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of speech, the history of the Hindi language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 13. To analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and Hindi fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process of India and Ukraine. PLO 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of Hindi texts of various styles and genres. PLO 19. To have the skills to participate in scientific and applied research in the field of philology.

Successful mastering of disciplines: "Hindi language: basic level", "Hindi language: intermediate level"; "Oral and Ancient Hindi Literature", "Medieval Hindi Literature".
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to acquaint students with the development and formation of genres and styles of Hindi poetry in India throughout the entire period of its existence, to give them an idea of the main regularities of formation, historical development, and specifics of genres and styles of Hindi poetry since the time of ancient Indian literature in Sanskrit. The discipline belongs to the block of disciplines of the student's free choice and has a theoretical orientation.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Learning activities comprise interactive lectures and seminar classes. Students’ self-study involves preparation for oral responses, reports with the analyses of scientific literature, research presentation, precis, summaries, and completion of term paper.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on the oral responses, written assignments, reports and presentations – 36/60 points, modular test papers – 12/20 points, term paper – 12/20 points. The credit is given based on the results of the student’s work throughout the entire semester and does not require additional assessment measures. Students who scored 60 points, the required minimum, receive “passed”. Students who failed to score 60 points, the required minimum, receive “failed”. Those students who scored totally less than 60 points during the semester period should complete a test paper in the items which he/she failed to pass. Final score 60-100 – passed; 0-59 – failed.
