            Knowledge of traditional and modern religious concepts.
To determine the specificity of the ontological, epistemological and axiological aspects of religious studies.
To provide a reasoned expert assessment of the possibilities and real cases of the use of religion to exert destructive effects on the consciousness and psyche of people; recognize the most common manipulation strategies of destructive religious organizations

            Prerequisites and co-requisites
        
        
            1. Before starting the course, students should know the basics of the history of religion, jurisprudence of religion, sociology of religion, the main forms of state-church relations.
2. To be able to apply an interdisciplinary approach to the study of religious phenomena; to know the basics of religious methodology; to be able to work with scientific and theological literature and critically interpret it; collect and interpret sources relating to various phenomena of religious life; to analyze the essence, properties and other systemic characteristics of the interaction between the state and religious organizations.
3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; the ability to search, process and analyze information from various sources;
the ability to use information and communication technologies.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The discipline "Freedom of conscience: legal and religious aspects" belongs to the list of disciplines of the student's free choice and is taught in the III semester of the master's level of education. The educational discipline acquaints students with the history of the emergence and meaningful burden of freedom of conscience, which is considered in its philosophical and religious explanation, as well as in the context of the theory and practice of law. Ukrainian legislation and international legal acts concerning the religious rights of individuals and specifics of the realization of the right to freedom of conscience are analyzed.
