            PLO 7. To understand the main problems of philology and approaches to their solution using appropriate methods and innovative approaches.
PLO 8. To know and understand the language system, the general properties of literature as an art of speech, the history of the Persian language and literature, and to be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities.
PLO 13. To analyze and interpret works of Ukrainian and Persian fiction and oral folk art, determine their specificity and place in the literary process of Iran and Ukraine.
PLO 15. To carry out linguistic, literary and special philological analysis of texts of various styles and genres.

            Successful mastering of the disciplines: “Oriental Language: advanced level”,  “Introduction to Oriental Philology”, “Lingual Country Studies of the Oriental Languages”, “Oral and Ancient Eastern Literature”, “Medieval Eastern Literature”.
        
    
            Course content
        
        
            The goal of the discipline is to acquaint students with the best examples of 20th century Persian fiction through sociocultural reading and literary analysis of selected works; to give an idea of the process of birth, formation, development and flowering of the novel genre in Iran in the 20th century; to outline the peculiarities and characteristic features of this process, as well as the place of Iranian short fiction of the 20th century in the system of world literature.

            Planned learning activities and teaching methods
        
        
            Learning activities comprise interactive lectures and seminar classes. Students’ self-study involves preparation for oral responses, reports with the analyses of scientific literature, research presentation, precis, summaries.
        
    
            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            Semestral assessment is based on: oral responses, reports and presentations / precis – 24/40 points, modular control works – 12/20 points. Summarizing evaluation in the form of exam is max. 40 / min. 24 points (60% of minimum required quantity); the exam is conducted in written and oral forms, and  proposes: 1) to answer two theoretical questions; 2) to complete a practical task. Students, who totally scored less than 36 points during the semester, may not participate in the exam.
