Learning outcomes
PLO 10. To know the norms of the literary language and be able to apply them in practical activities.
PLO 11. To know the principles, technologies and methods of creating oral and written texts of various genres and styles in the national and foreign (Persian and English) languages.
PLO 17. To collect, analyze, systematize and interpret the facts of language and speech and use them for solving complex problems in specialized fields of professional activity and/or education.
PLO 18. To have skills in managing complex actions or projects when solving complex problems in the professional field activities in the field of Iranian studies, as well as translation activities, and to be responsible for making decisions in the unpredictable conditions.
PLO 20. To demonstrate basic knowledge of translation theory, basic theoretical and practical problems of translation studies in the aspect of a specific pair of languages (Persian and Ukrainian).

Successful mastering of the disciplines “Oriental language: intermediate level”, “Basics of Translation Practice”, “Basics of Translation Theory”, “Translation Practice”.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to form students' ideas about the functional and stylistic features of the legal and diplomatic sub-styles of the official-business style of the Persian language; to highlight the typology of Persian-language legal and diplomatic texts, linguistic and cultural factors of their creation; formation and development of written and oral two-way translation skills in the relevant field. The discipline belongs to the block of disciplines of the student's free choice and has a practical direction.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The discipline provides only practical classes, designed for active work of students in the classroom and aimed at further development of translation skills in oral and written translation of the mentioned types of texts. Completion of homework and translation exercises is mandatory. Control from the teacher's side is carried out by means of oral questioning and the organization of written tasks, tests, lexical dictations, modular control works.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semestral assessment is based on the oral responses, written assignments, tests, lexical dictations, and translation exercises – 36/60 points, modular test papers – 12/20 points, final control paper – 12/20 points. The credit is given based on the results of the student’s work throughout the entire semester and does not require additional assessment measures. Students who scored 60 points, the required minimum, receive “passed”. Students who failed to score 60 points, the required minimum, receive “failed”. Those students who scored totally less than 60 points during the semester period should complete a test paper in the items which he/she failed to pass. Final score 60-100 – passed; 0-59 – failed.
