Learning outcomes
PLO 3. To implement modern methods and techniques, namely informational, in order to perform a successful and effective professional activity and guarantee the quality of research in an applied linguistics field. PLO 4. To assess and analyze critically the vital social, individual, and professional issues and offer tactics of their solution, in difficult and unpredictable conditions, which requires the application of new approaches and forecasting. PLO 10. To collect and systematize facts of language, interpret and carry out bilateral Ukrainian-English and Ukrainian-Russian translations of texts of different styles and genres. PLO 14. To create and analyze Ukrainian, Russian, and English texts, edit original and translated texts of different styles and genres, apply in the editing process the rules of proofreading, and knowledge of the typology of errors in Ukrainian, Russian, and English.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
A student is supposed to successfully accomplish the following academic disciplines: Modern Ukrainian, Introduction to Linguistics, Theory of Translation, Fundamentals of Editing, and to know: ● basic linguistic and translational concepts; ● principles of analysis of language material; ● peculiarities of semantics, structure, and functioning of units on every level of Ukrainian and Russian; ● basis of communication and text-building theory; to be able to: ● apply the linguistic and translational toolkit in practice; ● use basic skills of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting speech facts; ● communicate about linguistic and translation-related topics.
Course content
The content of the academic discipline is determined by Ukrainian and Russian structure and by the mistakes that occur during translation between two genetically related languages. Studying the discipline lets students, firstly, deepen and specify knowledge obtained during the accomplishment of other disciplines (foremost in Translation and Editing theory), and secondly, gain basic knowledge and professional activity skills in the field of Ukrainian-Russian translation and Russian texts editing

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is taught in practical classes. At the end of the course, an exam is to be passed.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.4), which is 40% of the total grade, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1-2.3); (communication 3.1-3.2); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1-4.2), which is 60% of the total grade. Work types: Oral answers; Participating in discussions; Creative or research work; Presentation; Exam.
