The exam program reflects the topics of three disciplines: Genre theories of translation, Fundamentals of editing, Complex disciplines Two-way translation, and editing. The final exam sets the task of testing knowledge and skills in the field of editing and translation (English-Ukrainian and Russian-Ukrainian).

General content of knowledge: – the structure of the process of literary editing; – theoretical and methodological foundations of editing; - features of various types of editorial reading of the text; - proofreading marks, rules for applying proofreading marks; – typology of text errors (language, speech, non-language); – basic theories and models of translation; – regularities of the translation process and its stages; – basic techniques of translation (formal, lexical, grammatical, logical, and semantic). General content of skills: - to carry out editorial analysis of texts of various functional directions - using modern methodological approaches; suggest ways to improve the text; - identify and correct various types of language errors, analyze their causes, - operate the terminological base of translation studies; - evaluate, choose, and apply structural methods and models in the analysis of linguistic phenomena; - perform adequate written and oral translation of texts of various styles; - carry out a translation analysis of the text in comparison with the original text, taking into account the applied translation techniques; - be able to use additional resources (reference literature, dictionaries, Internet resources, CAT tools (computer-aided translation tools), and TM packages (translation memory packages) when performing translations.

The structure of the examination ticket is determined by various types of tasks of a theoretical and practical nature according to the following thematic blocks: orthographic, lexical-semantic, stylistic, and grammatical norms of modern Ukrainian, Russian, and English languages; methods and techniques of English-Ukrainian and Russian-Ukrainian branch translation; informational linguistic Internet resources for automatic translation and editing of translated texts; methods and techniques of scientific and literary editing, proofreading rules, proofreading marks, commonly used notations, abbreviations; typology of errors in translated texts; translation commentary on the completed translation.

The examination ticket consists of four tasks. The first two questions are aimed at assessing students' knowledge and are theoretical in nature. The third practical task (translation of an English-language text with a translation commentary) is aimed at assessing students' abilities to perform English-Ukrainian text translation and translation analysis. The fourth practical task (editing a Russian-language translated text with editorial comment) is aimed at evaluating students' skills in editing a translated text. The exam involves a written performance of all tasks followed by an oral answer. The maximum number of points that a graduate can score is 100. The maximum possible number of points for each theoretical question of the ticket is 20 points, and the maximum possible number of points for each practical task is 30 points.
