Learning outcomes
PLO 1. To communicate fluently in official and foreign languages (English, French / Spanish) on professional issues with specialists and non-specialists both orally and in the written form; to use the languages effectively for cross-cultural communication. PLO 5. To cooperate with colleagues, representatives of other cultures and religions, proponents of different political views, etc. PLO 14. To use Ukrainian, English, French / Spanish in oral and written forms, in different registers of communication (formal, informal, neutral), for solving communicative tasks in educational, professional, scientific spheres, and everyday life. PLO 15. To conduct linguistic analysis (phonetic, morphemic, syntax, word formation, morphological, semantic), literary criticism, and translation studies analysis of texts of different genres and styles, as well as computer modeling of analysis and synthesis of linguistic objects and phenomena. PLO: 21.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of courses: English, Introduction to Linguistics, Theoretical Linguistics, Introduction to Translation Studies (English), Theoretical English Language Course. 2. Knowledge of theoretical foundations of general linguistics, foundations of translation studies, and English and Ukrainian grammar. 3. Mastery of techniques and methods of traditional linguistic analysis of units of all levels of the system of English and Ukrainian languages.
Course content
The purpose of the educational discipline is to develop the professional competence of a translator to ensure the process of interlingual and intercultural communication in various fields of professional activity in the fields of science and culture by translating various genre texts from English into Ukrainian and vice versa, ensuring the ability to perform oral and written translation of industry texts at a high professional level. Students will have the opportunity to practically improve the skills of written and oral translation of texts from various branches and spheres of science and culture, as well as improve their knowledge and skills of translation analysis of texts of various functional styles and genres, which is one of the prerequisites for their high-quality written translation.

Practical classes, independent work. Types of work: The answer is in the practical lesson; Written translations from English into Ukrainian. Modular control test.
Assessment methods and criteria
The semester final score is formed by the points received by the student in two parts of the complex discipline "Machine Translation Systems (MST)" and the points received in the exam, the maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: 60 points (60%) - semester control and 40 points (40 %) – exam). The maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points (positive score) that are added to semester scores is 24 points (60% of the maximum number of points assigned to the exam); The exam is conducted in the form of a written test, the examination ticket consists of two tasks: 2 theoretical tasks (commentary on the translation of terms (20%), and stylistic techniques (20%) with open answers, each of which is evaluated with 10 points; 2 practical tasks ( 30%+30%) for the translation of texts of various genres, each of which is evaluated with a maximum of 10 points.
