Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To work with information effectively: to select necessary information from different sources, in particular from professional literature and electronic bases; to analyze and interpret it critically; to arrange it and make proper classification and systematization.
PLO 4. To understand fundamental principles of human existence and nature in the contemporary scientific picture of the world, as well as fundamental principles of society with the aim of realizing man’s rights and duties as a member of society, awareness of the rule of law, human rights and freedoms and rights and freedoms of a citizen of Ukraine.
PLO 20. To have a basic knowledge of the history of Ukraine and the history of the Ukrainian language with the aim to be aware of national identity, the value of the civil (free and democratic) society, and the necessity of its sustainable development.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
a) know
- the main trends in the development of the world from antiquity to the present;
- the history of Ukraine;
b) be able to:
- identify manifestations of the main world trends in the historical and linguistic practice of Ukrainians;
- identify the characteristics inherent in the socio-political system, socio-economic system, and spiritual sphere of Ukraine against the background of the unfolding of world history;
c) have basic skills in historical analysis and establishing cause and effect relationships in the processes and events that took place in the history of Ukraine and the world.
Course content
The basic concepts of civilization, which are superimposed on the history of the world and Ukraine, are considered. The history of Ukraine is presented from the perspective of identifying global trends in its mental, socioeconomic, and political phenomena and processes. The influence of the ancient, Byzantine, and Muslim civilizations on the ancient history of the Ukrainian lands. Particular attention is paid to the mutual influence of Ukraine and Europe from antiquity to the present. A special place is given to the role of Russian statehood in the history of Ukrainians. The most relevant are the problems of the modern world and their projection on the realities of Ukraine, determining the prospects for its further development.

Module test, essay, final test.
Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment (maximum score/threshold score for a positive assessment from the relevant form of control):
1. Module control test on topics: 1.3 - 20 points / 15 points
2. Modular control test on the topics: LO 1... - 20 points / 15 points
3. Essay on the topics of GM 1 - GM 2:LO 2.1-2.2 - 40 / 20 points;
4. Final control test: LO 1.1-1.4, LO 2.1-2.3, LO 3.1-3.2, LO 4.1-4.3 - 20 points / 10 points.
