Prerequisites and co-requisites
The discipline "Communicative Strategies (French Language)" is based on a cycle of professional and practical training disciplines, in particular "Practical course of the first foreign language", "Practice of written and oral translation", as well as theoretical disciplines in linguistics and translation studies. Before starting its study, students must have an advanced level of French in order to master the discipline, implement written and oral communication in situations of professional and scientific communication
Course content
The subject of study of the academic discipline is language means of communication aimed at achieving a communicative goal using modern living language, as well as taking into account all available components of communication (physical, physiological, psychological, social, contextual, situational, etc.). The main attention is focused on the language implementation of strategies and tactics in various types of language communication, primarily in the practice of foreign language oral communication. Students continue to learn new lexical items based on the material of modern authentic textbook texts, non-fiction and fiction. The discussion of theoretical material is combined with the analysis of texts of various functional styles and genres and various types of oral and written exercises of creative direction

Assessment methods and criteria
Semester assessment: • answers during practical classes - max. 15 points; • written tasks (essays) - max. 15 points; • individual creative work (presentation) - max. 10 points; • written knowledge test - max. 20 points; Final assessment in the form of an exam is worth 40 points. The maximum score is 100 points which equals to the mark excellent. The minimum score is 60 points which equals to the mark satisfactory
