Prerequisites and co-requisites
Myth and mythology in their interactions with literature; primary historical events, artistic, scientific, and political changes in Western Europe, USA as well as Latin America in the 20th – at the beginning of the 21s century; general representation of postcolonial critics as a tool of literary analysis; basic points within the Current Syllabus for teaching foreign literature at secondary schools in Ukraine, namely its multicultural and comparative components.
Course content
The subject of the discipline comprises the conception of multiculturalism as an effective pedagogical methodology in the corpus of multicultural literary phenomena in Great Britain, Germany, France, Spain, USA, as well as Latin America in the second half of the 20s – at the beginning of the 21s century in the context of multicultural philosophy. The aim of the course is to present multicultural literary discourse of the cultural areas above in the lights of pedagogical strategies, namely when teaching literature based on multicultural components in the secondary school.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms and methods of teaching: lectures and practical classes (recitations).
Proceedings: evaluation of student performance at practical classes, preparation and evaluation of a multimedia presentation, performance within the final test.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final estimation mark for the course appears as a sum of current control estimation and the final control estimation, namely exam. The forms of current control cover student performance at practical classes (max 50 / min 30 points), presentation of multimedia presentation (max 5/min 3 points), performance during the final test (max 5 / min 3 points). In sum, the forms of final estimation appear in correlation as max 60 / min 36 points. Final estimation is realized as an exam, where estimation correlation shows itself as max 40 / мin 24 points.
To get a pass to the final exam, the student has to acquire 36 points. In order to get a positive mark from the discipline, the mark got during the exam should be min 24 points.
