Prerequisites and co-requisites
The prerequisites include successful mastering of the courses “Methods of Teaching Foreign Literature in General Education Schools”, “Innovative Methods of Teaching Foreign Literature in the School of Specialized, Special and Distance Education”, “History of Foreign Literature”, “Pedagogical Practice in Teaching Foreign Literature”; knowledge of the drama genre system and the peculiarities of the perception of dramatic works; skills of teaching foreign literature at secondary schools.
Course content
The course aims at deepening knowledge of the history of drama of the 20th century and studying the method of involving drama and staging in Foreign Literature lessons to implement the national-cultural code of various national literatures, understanding the concept of national-cultural code in the postclassical era of globalization. While studying the discipline, students deepen their knowledge of the development of drama in Western Europe of the 20th-21st centuries, learn the notion of the national and cultural code, acquire theoretical and practical knowledge on tools to implement the principles of drama adaptation for the stage into teaching Foreign Literature, model lesson fragments, write reviews on classical and pioneer staging of dramatic works of the 20th-21st centuries. The course promotes the development of professional skills attributed to contemporary teachers of Foreign Literature in secondary schools of Ukraine.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of study include lectures, practical classes, students’ self-study. Forms of tuition involve answers at the practical classes, modelling of lesson plan fragments, writing reviews.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam. 40 points can be scored at the exam. To receive an overall positive grade for the discipline, the score for the exam may not be less than 24 points. A student is not allowed to take the exam if he / she scored less than 36 points during the semester. Evaluations of academic progress: answer at the practical classes – min 12 / max 20 points; modeling of lesson fragments – min 12 / max 20 points; writing reviews – min 12 / max 20 points.
