Course content
The discipline “Methods of Teaching English Language in General Education Schools" is an mandatory discipline. It reveals theoretical, practical, organizational aspects of foreign language teaching, innovative methodological technologies, represents a modern view on the formation of language competence and learning speech activities, the formation of socio-cultural competence of students (5-9 grades), peculiarities of teaching in the secondary school.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities during the semester: oral answers, development of lesson fragments, preparation and presentation of educational projects, Modular tests
Teaching methods: Lectures, practical classes, independent work, educational projects.
Assessment methods and criteria
The final grade for the course is formed as the sum of the points of the formative and summative assessment.
Forms of formative assessment include answers on the seminars (max 30/min 18 points), development of lessons fragments (max 10/min 6 points), preparation of individual presentations (max 10/min 6 `points) and writing a test (max 10/min 6 points). In total, the forms of formative assessment are max 60/min 36 points.
Form of summative assessment are exam, exam score – max 40/min 24 points.
To be to pass the exam you must score a minimum of 36 points. To receive a positive grade in the discipline, the grade for the exam must be at least 24 points.
