Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. A “pass” in courses: Translation Studies, General English, Translation Practice; 2. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of general linguistics, basic categories of translation studies and the principles of translation and interpreting; 3. Proficiency in Ukrainian (not lower than C2) and English (not lower than C1).
Course content
The course covers a range of issues relevant to the acquisition of knowledge on law translation and its types, including understanding specific features and lexical, grammatical, stylistic problems of law translation, development of students' skills of legal text analysis and formation of practical skills and abilities of translation of various legal documents.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is delivered with the help of such activities as oral reports, written assignments and written tests. The teaching methods are practical classes, creative projects, students’ individual work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Continuous assessment is carried out corresponding to the types of work and the form of control at practical classes during the semester. The final term grade is accumulated from the points students gain for the fulfillment of the specified types and forms of training and points for the final test. The maximum distribution is carried out according to the following algorithm: semester control: 80 points (80%) and final test - 20 points (20%).
