Learning outcomes
PLO 2. To be confident using state language as well as English and classical languages for written and oral communication, in situations of professional and scientific communication, inter alia; to present research results in state, English and classical languages. PLO 6. To apply knowledge about expressive, emotional, logical language means and speech technique for the planned pragmatic result achieving and for the successful communication organizing. PLO 11. To carry out a scientific analysis of language, speech and literary material, to interpret and to structurize it taking into account appropriate methodological principles, to formulate generalizations based on independently processed data. PLO 14. To сreate, to analyze and to edit texts of various styles and genres. PLO 15. To сhoose optimal research approaches and methods for the analysis of specific linguistic or literary material.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
- Know English at the level not lower than B2; - Know the main provisions of the theoretical course of English; - Have an idea of modern linguistic theories and approaches to the analysis of language phenomena; - Know terminology of modern linguistics; - Be able to apply linguistic and linguocultural base for philological studies; - Have basic skills in selection, analysis and interpretation of speech facts; be able to communication on linguistic topics.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline is to study the basic norms and features of scientific discourse, which is extremely important in the context of globalization and provides ample opportunities for inclusion in the international scientific and educational process. The course in the foreign language is a professionally oriented academic discipline that combines thorough theoretical and practical training of students. The basic requirement for the training of higher level specialists (masters) is their knowledge of a foreign language at the B2 + level. Linguistic communication is considered as a multilevel phenomenon - in social, communicative and linguistic aspects. The course acquaints students with the language standards of writing annotations, highlights the main genres of scientific literature, promotes practical assimilation of scientific English by students in contrast to its everyday variety, helps in learning the language in terms of its use in science.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Teaching methods: practical classes, independent work. Forms of study: oral answer, discussion, analysis of scientific literature, individual work.
Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out by the ECTS system, which provides a two-level assessment of the mastered material, including assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge 1.1 - 1.3), which makes 40% of the total assessment, and assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills 2.1 - 2.3); (communication 3.1 - 3.3); (autonomy and responsibility 4.1 - 4.2), which makes 60% of the total score. Term assessment in Term 1: - credit All types of work during the semester result in: • the maximum of 100 points, • the minimum of 60 points.
