Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Before starting this course, students should know the main stages, regularities and characteristics of the historical and cultural process; 2. be able to navigate the issues of organizing the educational process in the higher education system, collect and interpret information on cultural phenomena and phenomena, cultural processes and events; 3. to possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management, skills of active listening, use of foreign language specialist informative sources.
Course content
The discipline "Introduction to university studies" introduces students to the specifics of formation, the main tasks and principles of university organization, and the key concepts of a classical university. Laws of Ukraine regulating the sphere of education and educational activities in the field of higher education of Ukraine are being considered consistently. The history of the integration of Ukrainian education into the European educational space and the key provisions of the Bologna Declaration are outlined. Ethical standards and the importance of academic integrity in the educational process are explained. The peculiarities of the functioning of universities in Ukraine and the structure of the educational process in higher education institutions are determined; the main milestones of the origin and formation of the higher education system in the history of world civilization, the main concepts and classification of higher educational institutions are considered; the role and influence of Ukrainian educational institutions on the formation of traditions of higher education; the main stages of formation, development and activity of Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University in general, and the Faculty of Philosophy in particular, are traced.

Assessment methods and criteria
The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final control work. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. For students who scored a total of less than the critical minimum of 60 points, it is necessary to complete the missed topics in writing and submit/send by e-mail to the teacher in order to receive credit. Thus, the final grade for the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester work (minimum 48, maximum 80 points) and the final test (minimum 12, maximum 20 points).
