2. Requirements for choosing an academic discipline: 1. Before starting this course, students should know the basic facts about the history of world religions; have an idea of the main features of dogmatics and worship of world religions, their historical evolution, including elementary knowledge about early historical forms of religion and tribal cults. 2. To be able to collect and interpret information about cultural phenomena and phenomena, religious processes and events; apply basic terms and categories from religious studies in the analysis of worldview problems and socio-cultural phenomena and processes; operate with objective knowledge of history and the history of religion. 3. Possess elementary skills of scientific research and information management; leading a discussion, critical attitude and forecasting about philosophical, religious, cultural events and phenomena; the use of foreign-language professional religious information sources.

The discipline "History of early religious beliefs and cults" introduces students to the history of early forms of religion and cults, the reasons for the emergence of religious beliefs. A general theoretical overview of the nature and specificity of the concepts of the theory of the origin of religion is given, the process of the emergence of early religious beliefs in society, the factors and conditions that contributed to this, different types and forms of religions, their relationship and possibilities, the limits of influence on the development of society in the past are considered and at the present stage. The main concepts and structural elements, the main functions of religion as a phenomenon of human history are considered. Special attention is paid to the problems of classifying religions and determining the "minimum" of religion in scientific discourse. The general features of the primitive mythological worldview and culture are analyzed. Prehistoric cults and their forms (maternal, patriarchal, ancestor cult, etc.), as well as the typology of forms of primitive beliefs (fetishism, totemism, animism, animatism, animalism, shamanism, primitive magic, etc.) are consistently considered. Considerable attention is paid to the study of indigenous religions of Australia, Oceania, Africa, and America.

Lectures, seminars, self-study

Examination evaluation takes place in written form. The ticket consists of 2 questions, each of which is evaluated on a scale of 20 whites, which gives a total of 40 points for the exam. A student is not admitted to the exam if he scored less than 20 points during the semester. To receive an overall positive grade in the discipline, the grade for the exam cannot be less than 24 points. In the event that a student scored less than 24 points on the exam, they are not added to the semester grade (regardless of the number of points obtained during the academic period). In the examination report, "0" is entered in the "exam/exam points" column, and only the number of points obtained during the semester is transferred to the "final grade in the discipline" column. Thus, the final grade for the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester (minimum 36, maximum 60 points) and the examination paper (minimum 24, maximum 40 points).
