Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Knowledge of the theoretical foundations of the history of civilizations and cultures. 2. Have the skills of research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting in relation to culturological events and phenomena. Be able to work with professional literature and primary sources. 3. It is necessary to have basic skills of project managment.
Course content
The purpose of the discipline - understanding the development of world and native culture in a single context of the history of European and world civilization; understanding of the processes of formation in human groups at different historical stages of complexes of social, religious, moral and aesthetic experience, norms, values, communication systems and ways of socio-cultural reproduction of the community. The course helps to understand the broad cultural context and assists in further research and translation practice.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
The course is delivered with the help of such activities as oral reports and written tests. The teaching methods are lectures, practical classes (seminars), creative and research projects, students’ individual work.
Assessment methods and criteria
The course ends with а credit. Students’ performance during the term is the sum of the points accumulated for their work in classroom (oral reports), individual work and final control work. The minimum score for the term is 48 points, while the maximum score equals 80. The minimum score for the credit is 12 and the maximum score is 20.
