2. Requirements for choosing an academic discipline: 1. Before starting this course, students should know the main stages of historical development of humanity, general characteristics of natural language. 2. To be able to identify structural components of reasoning in texts of various nature. 3. To have basic skills of working with specialized literature.

The discipline introduces students to the subject and method of logic as a science, historical stages of the development of logical knowledge, levels and dimensions of logico-semiotic analysis. Types and structure of the meaning of a name, principles of naming theory, structure and types of concepts, relations between concepts, logical operations on concepts are considered. The rules of logical operations on concepts are determined. The types of statements, the structure and types of simple judgments, the relationship between simple judgments, logical conjunctions. The specifics and types of deductive and plausible reasoning are clarified. Basic formal and logical laws are explained. The logical foundations of argumentation are considered.

Lectures, seminars, self-study

The final number of points for the discipline (maximum 100 points) is defined as the sum of points for systematic work during the semester, taking into account the final test. The credit is given based on the results of the student's work throughout the entire semester and does not include additional assessment measures. For students who scored a total of less points than the critical minimum - 60 points, an interview is provided for those questions that were submitted for the final test. Thus, the final grade for the discipline (minimum 60, maximum 100 points) consists of the sum of the number of points for the semester work (minimum 48, maximum 80 points) and the final test (minimum 12, maximum 20 points).
