Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of theoretical and practical courses of the Ukrainian language, taught during five semesters of study: "Practical Course of the Ukrainian Language", "Modern Ukrainian Language (Lexicology. Phraseology. Lexicography)", "Introduction to Linguistics", "History of Ukrainian Literature", "Linguistic and Country Studies of the Ukrainian Language", "Practice of Translation and Interpretation", "Word as a Source of Information about Culture and Worldview of the People", "Universal and Nationally Specific in the Grammar of the Ukrainian Language".
Course content
The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the linguistic and cultural value of phraseological units as linguistic units that reflect the peculiarity of the people's worldview and serve as a means of reflecting the life of the Ukrainian ethnic group. "Ukrainian Phraseology in the Linguistic and Cultural Aspect" is an elective course for international students studying Ukrainian Language and Translation (for Foreigners). The course introduces students to the linguistic and cultural value of phraseological units as linguistic units that reflect the peculiarity of the people's worldview and serve as a means of reflecting the life of the Ukrainian ethnic group, as well as developing fundamental knowledge and skills that will be useful in their professional activities.

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Educational activities: Lectures, practical classes, independent work. Teaching methods: method of problem-based teaching (explanation, discussion, analysis); independent work with scientific and reference literature; method of fixing and training exercises (observation and analysis).
