Learning outcomes
PTR 7. To understand the main problems of philology and ways to solve them using appropriate methods and innovative approaches. PTR 8. To know and understand the Russian language system and history, and to be able to use this knowledge in professional activities. PTR 9. To characterize the dialectal and social varieties of the Russian language and to describe the sociolingual situation. PTR 12. To analyze linguistic units, determine their interaction and characterize linguistic phenomena and processes that determine them.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
Successful mastery of theoretical and practical courses of the Ukrainian language taught during the first and second years of study (1-4 semesters): Modern Ukrainian language. Lexicology. Phraseology. Lexicography", "Modern Ukrainian Language. Word Formation", "Practical Course of the Ukrainian Language", "Practical Grammar of the Ukrainian Language", "Practical Phonetics of the Ukrainian Language", "Commentary Reading of Scientific Texts".
Course content
The discipline gives students a holistic view of the grammatical system of the Ukrainian language, the basic concepts and categories of morphology, morphological norms; forms and develops skills of morphological analysis of linguistic units, professional scientific speech; summarises previous knowledge and serves as a theoretical basis for further theoretical courses. The discipline examines the grammatical structure of the language, including grammatical classes of words (parts of speech), grammatical categories of these parts of speech and their forms, as well as units smaller than a word (proper morphemes, analytical morphemes and word morphemes that express morphological and syntactic meanings).

Planned learning activities and teaching methods
Forms of education: lectures, practical classes, independent work. Method of problem-based teaching, partially research-based. Theoretical-practical, conscious-practical teaching methods (observation, explanation, discussion; morphological analysis, analysis of morphological units in comparison with lexical and other grammatical units, functional properties characteristic of a certain grammatical unit, etc.). Method of consolidation and training exercises (observation, analysis and classification of grammatical forms). Illustrative methods. Independent work with scientific and reference literature.
Assessment methods and criteria
