Prerequisites and co-requisites
To successfully complete the course, students must master the following disciplines: pedagogy (didactics), psychology, and methods of teaching foreign languages. Students should also know - theoretical foundations of forming skills of various types of speech activity in a foreign language; - functions of control and assessment; forms of realization of control and assessment at different stages of foreign language learning; principles of using different means of control and assessment of foreign language skills and abilities; - basic provisions for the organization of control and evaluation during training; be able to: - plan and organize the educational process in secondary school, choose appropriate means of control and assessment.
Course content
The discipline "Writing English Language Tests" is designed to develop students' professional competence in the field of testing and assessment of English language learning outcomes. This course is a part of the educational and professional program for the bachelor's degree, field of knowledge 01 Education, specialty 014.02 Secondary Education (Turkish Language and Literature). The content of the course includes basic concepts and categories of language testing, as well as goals, content, approaches, principles and methods of test control and assessment of foreign language proficiency. The course consists of two modules: 1 - basic concepts and principles of modern language testing theory; 2 - development of tests for testing English language skills and abilities.

Assessment methods and criteria
Evaluation of semester work: 1. Work in practical classes: 24 - 42 points. 2. Module tests: 5 - 8 points. 3. Presentation of educational projects: 18 - 30 points. 4. Test score: 12 - 20 points.
