Learning outcomes
PLO 5. Operate with the basic categories and concepts of the specialty. PLO 17. Explain the specifics of the literary process of different countries in the cultural context, characterize literary epochs, artistic trends, movements, genres, styles, achievements of national literatures, apply various types of analysis of a work of art, determine its genre and style originality, place in the literary process, traditions and innovation, the relationship of the work with folklore, mythology, religion, philosophy, significance for national and world culture. PLO 18. Able to make effective decisions in professional activities and responsible attitude to duties, motivate people to achieve a common goal.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful completion of the course requires knowledge and mastery of philosophical and cultural categories and concepts, knowledge of the theoretical foundations of the history of civilizations and cultures, the basics of cultural analysis, possession of analytical and compatibilist skills acquired during their studies in secondary schools of I-III degrees and studying at the first year of KNUTS. 2. Possess basic skills of scientific research and information management; critical attitude and forecasting of cultural events and phenomena Be able to process and analyze cultural, philosophical and historical texts, work with professional literature and primary sources. 3. Must have basic skills in project activities.
Course content
The curriculum "Ukrainian and Foreign Culture" was created on the basis of the scientific school of the Department of Ukrainian Philosophy and Culture of the Faculty of Philosophy of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and implemented within the framework of the Comprehensive Research Program of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv "Modernization of Social Development of Ukraine in the Context of World Globalization", research topic of the Faculty of Philosophy of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv 11BF041-01 "Philosophical and World Culture". The subject of the discipline is the theory and functions of culture, the history of the development of cultural systems and civilizational and cultural formations in the global and national context; value-semantic and sign-communicative mechanisms that regulate the cultural practice of human interaction in the community at each specific historical stage. The study of the discipline leads to the formation of conceptual knowledge of cultural studies in terms of description, interpretation, analysis of culture; modern cultural and philosophical thought, historical and philosophical methods in the study of cultural phenomena, intellectual and artistic traditions; the main forms of modern artistic, aesthetic and other socio-cultural practices are studied. The logic of scientific cognition qualifies culture as a starting point and result of human development, the discipline "Ukrainian and Foreign Culture" is the basis for the study and development of humanities in general.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training, which is 40% of the total grade, and the assessment of practical training, which is 60% of the total grade. Assessment of semester work: 1. Oral answer: 12 - 30 points. 2. Additions, participation in discussions: 6 - 12 points. 3. Abstract: 10 points. 4. Summary of primary sources: 8 points. 5. Projects to choose from: 12 - 20 points. 6. Final control work: 12 - 20 points.
