Learning outcomes
PLO 12. To realize the value of protecting the independence, territorial integrity and democratic system of Ukraine.
PLO 14. Possess communicative competence in Ukrainian, Turkish and English (linguistic, socio-cultural, pragmatic components in accordance with the European recommendations on language education), able to improve and enhance their own competence level in the national and international context.
PLO 19. Compare linguistic and literary facts, phenomena, original works in Turkish and Ukrainian translations of foreign language literary texts, identify their similarities and differences.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of language analysis and interpretation skills at all levels of its structure in accordance with the primary school curriculum.
2. Knowledge of the basics of literary and linguistic terminology in accordance with the primary school curriculum.
3. Possession of skills in analyzing grammatical forms and syntactic structures, as well as basic elementary skills in etymological analysis.
Course content
The discipline "Latin" introduces students to the origin of the Latin alphabet, the phonetic system of the Latin language, the basics of noun, adjective, pronoun, numeral and verb morphology in comparison with Ukrainian and modern European languages, frequency vocabulary in order to conduct etymological and structural-semantic analysis of Latin terms and prepare for the translation and interpretation of excerpts from ancient Roman literature.

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, an assessment of theoretical training, which accounts for 40% of the total grade, and an assessment of practical training, which accounts for 60% of the total grade.
Assessment of semester work:
1. Oral answer: 36 - 60 points.
2. Supplements, participation in the discussion: 4 - 8 points.
3. Report-analysis of scientific literature: 6 - 10 points.
4. Creative task (essay, reader's review) or presentation: 8 - 12 points.
5. Control work, test tasks: 6 - 10 points.
