            Course content
        
        
            The discipline "Conference Interpreting (Turkish)" is an elective discipline included in the Elective Block 2 "Translation Studies". The discipline is aimed at studying the main stages of preparation for consecutive and simultaneous interpreting at conferences of various types, the specifics of interpreting using various technical means, interpreting Internet conferences; developing students' understanding of the specifics of scientific and business oral discourse, patterns and principles of adequate translation of conferences, meetings, etc. Through practical exercises and tasks, students develop skills in coordinating the work of interpreters during translation and teamwork. The specifics of interpreting at scientific conferences with time limits, performing abstract interpretation, simultaneous interpretation of video and audio materials of reports are considered. During the course of teaching the discipline, a set of training exercises for interpreters is performed.

            Planned learning activities and teaching methods
        
        
            The course is taught in the form of practical classes and concludes with a final test. The course covers a range of methods that a future specialist interpreter will use in the process of interpreting or simultaneously interpreting conferences of any subject. The discipline is focused on acquiring the skills and abilities necessary for a future interpreter to organise the process of interpreting or simultaneous interpreting.
        
    
            Assessment methods and criteria
        
        
            Knowledge control is carried out according to the ECTS system, which provides for a two-level assessment of the material learned, in particular, the assessment of theoretical training - learning outcomes (knowledge), which accounts for 30% of the total grade, and the assessment of practical training - learning outcomes (skills), which accounts for 70% of the total grade. 
1. Oral answer: 5 -15 points.
2. Exercises: 25 - 35 points.
3. Translation cursive: 14 - 20 points.
4. Test paper: 8 - 15 points.
5. Modular control work: 8 - 15 points.
6. Credit: 12 - 20 points.
