PLO 8. Know and understand the system of the Ancient Greek, Latin and a foreign language, the general properties of literature as the art of word, the history of the Ancient Greek and Latin languages, and literature, be able to apply this knowledge in professional activities. PLO 11. Know the principles, technologies and techniques of oral and written texts of different genres and styles creation in Ukrainian, classical and a foreign language. PLO 13. Analyze and interpret works of the Ancient literature, determine their peculiarities and place in the literary process. PLO 15. Perform linguistic, literary and specific philological analysis of texts of different styles and genres in Ancient Greek and Latin. PLO 22. Realize the role and place of classical languages and literatures in the context of the European linguistic and cultural space, in the strategies of the development of the contemporary academic paradigm and modern civilization.

To master successfully the academic disciplines "Introduction to Literary Studies", "Introduction to Classical Philology", "History of Ancient Greek Literature. Second semester", "Ancient mythology and modernity" and "Ancient Greek language (first semester, second semester)"; to know general information about the historical and cultural context of antiquity, the basics of literary terminology, the basic set of Ancient Greek myths, the peculiarities of the development of Ancient Greek literature of the archaic and classical eras, its genre system, the evolution of directions and styles, the basics of the grammar of the ancient Greek language; to have the basic skills and abilities to track the evolution of literary genres, to analyze and interpret literary works.

The goal of the discipline is to familiarize students with the phenomenon of Ancient Greek literature of the Hellenistic era, its formation and history, theoretical foundations, terminological apparatus, methods of research, analysis and interpretation of works of Ancient Greek literature of the Hellenistic era with the involvement of original texts. Abstract of the academic discipline. The discipline belongs to the list of mandatory educational components of the OPP "Classical Philology and the English Language". Its subject is the study of the laws of the literary process of the Hellenistic era, the genesis and evolution of genera, genres and styles of Ancient Greek literature, the connection between myth and literature, the influence of the Hellenistic literary tradition on the development of world literature. The discipline is aimed at understanding the universal and distinctive features of Ancient Greek literature of the Hellenistic era; gives an idea of the problems, poetics and artistic style of Hellenistic genres and forms the skills of literary analysis and interpretation of works of Ancient Greek literature.

Lectures, independent work, practical classes. Forms of learning: oral response, additions, participation in the discussion, creative tasks (essay, reader's review), report-analysis of scientific literature, control work with open answers.

The semester number of points is formed by the points obtained by student in process of learning the material from the entire educational course. The overall grade for semester consists of points received for classroom work and independent work . All types of work for the semester have a total of: 60 points in the maximum dimension, 36 points in the minimum dimension. The final assessment is conducted in the form of an exam: the maximum number of points on the exam is 40, the minimum is 24; the following learning outcomes are evaluated on the exam: 1.1-1.5; 2.1-2.4; 3.1; 4.1-4.5; the exam is conducted in the form of a written work with open answers to two theoretical questions, each of which is evaluated with a maximum of 20 points.
