1. Know the features of the calculation of different types of reactors and approaches to the analysis of transients in nuclear reactors 2. Be able to solve the main types of problems in nuclear energy.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1. Successful mastery of basic courses: «Mathematical analysis», «Analytical geometry», «Probabalistic theory», «Differential equations», as well as the following special courses: «Design and systems of nuclear power installations» and «Nuclear Safety of NPPs»; 2. to be able to solve tasks from basic courses in Mathematics, Physics and some special courses; 3. to possess elementary skills of computer working to search for the information in Internet.
Course content
The educational course "Transients in nuclear reactors" allows to significantly enhancing a professional training of students of Department of Nuclear Physics, what is dealing with mastery by students of new skills for calculations of the parameters of nuclear reactors as well as nuclear power systems for safe utilization of nuclear energy in power, medicine, applied and fundamental researches

Assessment methods and criteria
Knowledge evaluation is being carried out according to the modular-rating system. The content module 1 includes 1 - 2, and the content module 2 includes topics 3 – 4. The mandatory requirement for the exam is the execution and defense od home independent tasks and a positive mark for each of modular control works.
