The discipline "Social and Political Studies" aims to uncover the peculiarities of sociological and political knowledge about society, models of social order and interactions, basic dimensions and problems of modern society, the logic of its development, socio-cultural and political-cultural characteristics and trends of development of modern Ukrainian society. During the study of the discipline, attention is focused on the dimensions of values, identity, inequalities, social solidarity and conflicts, social relations in employment and politics systems, history of political thought, issues of power, regimes in politics, political systems of society and state, civil society, democracy, parties and party systems, elections, world politics, etc.

Assessment methods and criteria
The semester grade is determined by the points obtained by the student in the process of mastering the material from the entire course. The overall grade for the semester is composed of points earned for in-class work (oral presentations, contributions, and participation in seminar discussions) and for independent work (working with texts, researching values, writing recommendation texts).
The maximum number of points a student can receive for their work during the semester is 100 points.
The form of the final evaluation is the credit. The assessment is carried out by issuing a final grade, which is defined as the sum of points for all successfully assessed learning outcomes.
