The first module is devoted to the study of theoretical provisions and results of analytical studies on the geography of population and settlement: geodemographic peculiarities of reproduction (natural and mechanical movement of the population), population structure, ethnogeography, familiarization with modern theories of population and UN regional forecasts, classification of settlements (according to various characteristics), their typology, forms of settlement, processes of formation of settlement systems, agglomeration and urbanization, theory of world cities, the basic provisions of geo-urbanism, features of resettlement in rural areas, and the characteristics of these processes in the world and in Ukraine are provided. In the second module, the theoretical positions of the geography of culture and religion, the methodology of geocultural research are considered; the co-evolutionary connections of ethnogenesis, culturogenesis and sociogenesis with the development of the natural environment are revealed; formation of features of the geography of elements of material and spiritual culture; a description of the geocultural and georeligious situation in the world and in Ukraine is provided.

Lectures, practical work, self-study

Assessment is carried out throughout the semester and during the examination session. Practical works are handed in at each practical session or at the time specified by the teacher; for works submitted after the specified deadline, the assessment is 50% of the maximum number of points. Protection of practical work is mandatory. Control work is conducted in the form of blitz tests for 6-7 weeks of study during the lecture. For students who have completed 60% or less of practical work, an additional test is held in the 11th-12th week of study. The exam is held within the time limits determined by the schedule of the exam session.
