To know, understand and be able to use in practice basic concepts from the theory of geomorphology (PR 01). Know and understand the main types of geographical activity (PR 02). To analyze the geographical potential of the territory in connection with the geomorphological situation, (PR 04). Collect, process and analyze information in the field of geographical sciences (PR 05). Use information technologies, cartographic and geo-informational models when studying processes of formation and development of the relief of the earth's surface (PR 06). Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the landscape envelope (PR 07). Apply models, methods of physics, chemistry, geology, ecology, mathematics, information technology, etc. when studying the processes of formation and development of the relief of the earth's surface. (PR 08).
Form of study
Full-time form
Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastery of such disciplines as "Geology", "Geomorphology", "Fundamentals of nature tourism". 2) knowledge of the main properties and characteristics of the terrain; 3) knowledge of general scientific research methods; 3) possession of elementary skills of analysis of cartographic materials of various content.
Course content
The educational discipline consists of three content modules. The first is devoted to the consideration of the systematics and classification of methods of obtaining information about the topography of the earth's surface, the organization of geomorphological research and the basics of geomorphological mapping. The second is the study of the main directions of general geomorphological analysis and consideration of the methods used to obtain information about individual properties of the relief of the earth's surface. The third is the application of certain general scientific methods in geomorphological research. Knowledge of the discipline has important practical significance, as it enables students to navigate the modern arsenal of methods and techniques of terrain research, to apply them to conduct targeted field and camera geomorphological research, and to contribute to the acquisition of the skills of collecting actual material during production practice and preparation of qualification works.
