Learning outcomes
LO01. Collect, process and analyze information in the field of earth sciences. LO04. To use information technologies, cartographic and geo-informational models in the field of Earth sciences, in particular in soil science. LO06. Determine the main characteristics, processes, history and composition of the Earth as a planetary system and its geospheres, including the pedosphere. LO08. Justify choices and use field and laboratory methods to analyze natural and anthropogenic systems and objects. LO11. Organize and summarize the materials of field and laboratory research. LO14. To participate in the development of projects and practical recommendations in the field of Earth sciences, in particular, in matters of soil science, land management and territorial planning. LO15. Be able to choose optimal methods and tools for research, data collection and processing.

Prerequisites and co-requisites
1) successful mastering of the disciplines "Soil Science", "Geomorphology", "Soil Physics". 2) skills of field studies of soils and relief, geological structure of the territory, free use of GIS.
Course content
The educational discipline provides an opportunity for students to work out the legal foundations of the state land cadastre of Ukraine, and also forms theoretical knowledge and practical skills in conducting a comparative assessment of the quality of soils according to their main natural properties, which significantly affect the yield of agricultural crops grown in specific natural and climatic conditions. Such data are included in the comprehensive assessment of soils and are necessary for maintaining the land cadastre, as well as for the development of projects and programs for the rational use of natural resources, soil protection of individual territorial communities, etc.

Assessment methods and criteria
Surveys in test and written form, modular control works, exam. The final evaluation in the form of an exam is conducted in writing. The maximum number of points on the exam is 40 points, the minimum number of points added to the semester ones is 30 points. Students who scored a total of less points than the critical calculation minimum - 20 points are not allowed to take the exam. The recommended minimum for admission is 30 points. For students who scored a total of less than 30 points (recommended minimum), writing essays on missed or insufficiently mastered topics is a mandatory condition for admission to the credit.
